Location
Entrance to Council Chamber / Civic Suite
The Council Chamber is in the Civic Suite, which has a separate entrance to
the right of the main reception entrance.
Press the buzzer outside the door of the Civic Suite entrance and reception
will let you in.
The Council Chamber is on the first floor (via the stairs or lift).
Parking
Disabled parking and limited public parking is available on the forecourt but
there is plenty of free, on-street parking in the roads surrounding the Civic
Centre. Such as Alma Road and Hollow Road.
Directions by car:
From Bristol:
• Kingswood is to the East of Bristol
• Leave Bristol on the A420 - signposted Kingswood/Chippenham
• On arrival in Kingswood continue beyond the shopping area in the
direction of Chippenham
• The Civic Centre is about 500 yards on the left
From the M4 London:
• Leave M4 at junction 18
Take A46 South (signposted to Bath)
• After about 2 miles turn right on A420 (signposted Bristol and
Kingswood)• Kingswood is about 8 miles
• The Civic Centre is on the right (just after the right turn for Alma Road)
From M5 and M4 West:
• Leave the M4 at junction 19 (M32)
• Leave the M32 at Junction 1
Take the first exit from the Junction 1 roundabout (A4174).
Kingswood is signposted - follow signs for about 4 miles
• At roundabout for the A420 turn right
• Go straight on towards the High Street
• The Civic Centre is on the right (just after the right turn for Alma Road)
By bus:
- 6* runs every 15 minutes between Bristol City Centre and Kingswood via
Speedwell, Lodge Causeway, Hillfields and Soundwell.
- 43* runs every 20 minutes between Cribbs Causeway and Cadbury Heath
via Shirehampton, Bristol City Centre, Redfield, Kingswood and Warmley.
- 319* runs every hour between Bath and Cribbs Causeway via Kelston,
Bitton, Oldland, Cadbury Heath, Warmley, Kingswood, Staple Hill,
Downend, Frenchay and Bristol Parkway Station
- 635* runs every 2 hours between Chippenham and Bristol (City Centre) via
Marshfield, Wick, Warmley, Kingswood and Redfield
- 634+ runs between Tormarton and Kingswood via Doynton, Wick, Warmley
and Orchard Vale. Three return journeys are operated.
- 686+ runs every 2 hours between Chipping Sodbury and Kingswood via
Yate, Coalpit Heath, Emersons Green, Mangotsfield and Siston Common.

The nearest bus stop for all these services is in High Street close to the
Civic Centre.

By train:
The nearest station is at Lawrence Hill (approximately 3 miles away). Trains
run to Lawrence Hill at infrequent intervals from Bristol Temple Meads,
Bristol Parkway, Filton Abbey Wood, Yate, Patchway and Severn Beach.
Bus Service 43 runs every 20 minutes from the stop in Lawrence Hill
(outside the station) directly to the Civic Centre.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURE
In the event of a fire alarm, fire drill or other emergency, signalled by a
continuously ringing bell, please exit from the Council Chamber via the
doors marked "Exit" via the external staircase or the main entrance to the
Civic Suite.
NB The lifts provided within the building are not to be used as a means of
escape.
An evac-chair is located in the foyer near the top of the stairs.
