Sunday 3rd. 11.00 a.m. A visit to colliery, tram road and canal sites in the Nettlebridge Valley
including New Road colliery, Morewood incline, Coleford aqueduct, Fussels Balance Lock and other locations if time allows. Meet in the car park opposite Radstock Museum, near the winding wheel G.R. ST690548. Contact Will Harris on 01453 843411
Thursday 7th. 2:00 p.m. Visit to Bailey Caravans Ltd.,
South Liberty Lane, Bedminster, Bristol An opportunity for a second party to visit the one remaining caravan manufacturing facility in the Bristol region. Please book with Roger Davis on 01275 847522.
Sunday 17th. 11.00 a.m. Visit to the International Helicopter Museum at Weston-super-Mare
A guided tour of this unusual museum, the world's largest dedicated rotorcraft collection, many of the exhibits having been built in Somerset. (Entrance fee applies). Meet at the museum « hich is on the A371 near Locking. G.R. ST354604 The afternoon may be used to view sites of interest in the area.
Sunday 24th Coach trip to Kew Bridge and Kempton Park Pumping Stations
The two Thames-side pumping stations supplied drinking water to large areas of London and are now active steam museums. Kew houses a large collection of working engines from many sources, while Kempton still boasts its two huge Worthington-Simpson triple expansion engines, one of which will be in steam. Thursday 12th. 7.30 p.m. Copper and Collieries
An evening walk with Ken Kemp along the Conham to Hanham section of the Avon Valley to view the remains of the 18th century industry of the area. Meet at the car park on Conham Road, close to the junction with Conham Hill GR ST629721
Sunday 29th. 11.00 a.m. Visit to the West Somerset Railway
An opportunity to visit the railway workshops at Williton and Minehead. Meet outside Williton Station. For those wishing to take a train ride, the 10.25 a.m. from Bishops Lydeard arrives at Williton at 11.00 a.m. Transfer to Minehead by road or rail as preferred.
Parking at Willton is limited, so please share cars if not arriving by rail. Plenty of parking at Bishops Lydeard. Please let Geoff Sheppard-know if you intend to join the visit (0117 9560869).

Thursday 9th. 7.30 p.m. Visit to Saltford Brass Mill
An evening visit to a local Scheduled Ancient Monument with which a number of BIAS members have been involved over many years. Much progress has been made since our last visit in June 2000. Meet in The Shallows public car park GR ST761607. Contact John Munden on 01454 315296
Sunday 26th. 11.00 a.m. Visit to the Welsh National Museum, St. Fagans
An informal visit to the open air musum where many specimen buildings have been re-erected and demonstrations of local crafts are staged for the enlightenment of visitors. Meet at the main entrance, off the A4232 just south of M4 Junction 33. Contact John Munden.
